Katy Manning
BIO
Katy's long career started in TV with Softly Softly followed by ground-breaking series Man at the Top. She then landed the role of Jo Grant in Doctor Who, followed by the series Target, as well as Armchair Theatre (both directed by Douglas Camfield). She also hosted arts and crafts series Serendipity for BBC.
This was followed by vast amounts of theatre spanning three countries from London's west end to Sydney's Opera House, New York, on the African continent, and Los Angeles as well as voicing award winning animation, and hosting her own interview show for UK TV.
She returned to the world of Doctor Who as Jo Jones in The Sarah Jane
Adventures with Elizabeth Sladen and Matt Smith. She also appeared
briefly in “The Power of The Doctor”, plus Tales of The Tardis.
Katy works extensively for Big Finish voicing both Jo Grant and Jo Jones,
with most Doctors and Sir Derek Jacobi. She has voiced Iris Wildthyme
for over 22 years, The Ice Warrior Queen, all the Scorchies, and featured in Dorian Grey and Dracula, and performed her own play Not a Well Woman, complete with 25 voices .
She worked with Tom Baker on Bakers End, her second story for Penguin
Publishing, titled “Take our Breath Away”, and “Velvet Hugs” for Doctor Who: Origin Stories.
All Katy's seasons in Doctor Who have released in box sets, complete with short films written by Pete McTighe .
