Jane Goddard

BIO

In the world of Doctor Who, Jane is best known as a regular actress for Big Finish, and has appeared in over thirty stories for them. She has been eaten by a Myrka, married to a penguin, and converted into the very first Cyberwoman! But her favorite role is Alpha Centauri, everyone's favorite hexapod, and she has been playing him ever since 2008.

Jane's acting career spans over 50 years, and she's been lucky enough to work all over the world, from London's West End to West Africa. She spent seven years touring Shakespeare all over Africa and the Middle East, has appeared in plays in Canada, Egypt, Italy and India, and has been directed by Liza Minnelli in New York. She's worked in London for Sir Peter Hall (in The Dresser), at the Open Air Theatre in Regent's Park (in A Midsummer Night's Dream), and spent a year at the prestigious Young Vic Theatre in productions ranging from Twelfth Night to Godspell. TV includes The Bill, Eastenders, Scoop and assorted sketches in the popular BBC comedy series Dead Ringers. Film includes Hot Hot Hot and 7 Keys (directed by Doctor Who writer Joy Wilkinson).

She’s married to writer Robert Shearman, and the character Diana Goddard from his episode Dalek was named after her!
