Daisy Ashford
BIO
Daisy is a professional actress, and trained at LAMDA (the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art), having previously studied English at Manchester University – something her actor parents advised, knowing the precarious nature of the business.
She has recently worked at the RSC in Stratford-Upon-Avon, in Congreve’s Love For Love and Queen Anne, a new play by Helen Edmundson, the latter transferring to the Haymarket Theatre in London’s West End.
Other theatre includes: The Middlemarch Trilogy, Adam Bede, The Twelve Pound Look, The Skin Game, Diana of Dobson’s, Playgoers and The Beggars Opera all at The Orange Tree Theatre, The Rivals (Theatre Royal Bath/no.1 tour), All You Ever Needed (Hampstead/Royal Court), Quality Street (Finborough), Antigone (Southwark Playhouse), The Norman Conquests (Sherringham).
On Television, Daisy has appeared in Eastenders, Amazon’s original drama Mammals (starring James Cordon and Sally Hawkins), The Midwich Cuckoos, Trigonometry, Emmerdale, Wallander, Spotless, Bonekickers, and Like Father Like son.
Films include: Jack Ryan, Captain America, The Sweeter Side of Life.
Daisy is the currently the voice of Liz Shaw, the character her mother, Caroline John, played in Doctor Who, in a series of Doctor Who audio dramas for Big Finish.
Other radio includes: Ruth and Love Lessons for Radio 4, and several other audio dramas for Big Finish.
Daisy is also a professional jazz singer and folk singer/songwriter, and is currently in the process of writing her first novel.
