Today we take a look at all the fun planned for our youngest members at our new kids’ programming room, Camp Time Lord. Read all about it on the CTL page!
Every day for the next two weeks, we’re going to highlight different areas of our convention– we don’t want you to miss a thing! We’re starting at the beginning, with Chicago TARDIS Fire Up!
If you’re new to the convention, you will want to start bright and early on Friday and/or Saturday morning at Fire Up! Even if you’re an old hand, Fire Up! will entertain you. Although geared to the newbies, Fire Up! provides everyone an overview of weekend events and procedures. We also play silly games, hand out weird prizes, and answer any and all questions you might have about the weekend. In short, Fire Up! gives you a leg-up on everyone else at the convention. The man who is definitely not the Tin Dog: Noel Clarke joins us at Chicago TARDIS this year. Noel played Mickey Smith (alongside Doctors 9 & 10). He’s also well-known for his writing and directing chops, including the films Kidulthood, Adulthood, 22.214.171.124., and The Anomaly. You probably spotted him in last year’s Star Trek Into Darkness, too. And if you’re clever (and we know you are), you know he’s currently appearing in ITV’s Chasing Shadows.
Tickets to our fabulous Sunday brunch with selected guests are now available for purchase through Eventbrite. Use this link to get to the sales page:
Tickets are just $55 each. Make sure to read all the terms and conditions before purchasing.
The much-anticipated sales for our Sunday Brunch begin on Monday, September 8 at noon CDT. An annual event, the brunch allows you to spend some extra time with many of our guests while enjoying a lovely buffet. The brunch will run from 10 a.m. – noon. We will post the direct Eventbrite link on our home page as well as to Facebook and Twitter when sales open. Only 80 tickets will be available for this somewhat-exclusive event.
As for cost, we are still determining that, but the tickets will cost no more than $60 each– and we’re working to get amount down. (Last year, the tickets cost $50/ea, but the hotel raised its prices to the convention for 2014.) We should have the exact amount we will be charging by next weekend. We wanted to get the date and time out to you all now, though, because we know many of you have to make special arrangements to access the Internet for personal reasons during the course of the work day.
Please note: not all guests will be participating in the Brunch. (Billie Piper and Camille Coduri, unfortunately, will not be at the brunch.) You must be a registered member of the convention (Reserved, Priority, Weekend, or Sunday-Only) in order to attend the Brunch.
What do you want to talk about at Chicago TARDIS this year? Do you have an idea for a cool panel (or more)? (We’re still allowed to say “cool,” right? Even though bowties and fezzes are no longer valid?) Let us know by utilizing the handy form below. You have until September 1, 2014 to submit your ideas.
