Chicago TARDIS has messed with the time/space continuum, whacked the helmic regulator several times, and lowered the shields. In other words, we’re ecstatic to announce that Peter Davison will be coming to the convention this year. He joins Colin Baker and all our other already-announced guests in our best line-up yet.
Joining our ever-expanding guest line-up at this year’s Chicago TARDIS are two Eleventh Doctor era guest actors. Richard Hope has specialized in playing Silurians, first as scientist Malohkeh in “The Hungry Earth,” “Cold Blood,” and “The Wedding of River Song.” He then popped up as a different Silurian, Bleytal, in the recent “Dinosaurs On a Spaceship.” Nina Toussaint-White, on the other hand, only appeared in one story, but made quite an impact as Mels as she kidnapped the Doctor and the Ponds with the goal of killing Hitler in “Let’s Kill Hitler.” We’re excited to welcome both actors to our convention.
Best-selling author Tony Lee returns to Chicago TARDIS this year. Whether you enjoy his graphic novels, his comics, or his audios, you know he’s a talented writer. You also know he’s an entertaining panelist, a raconteur of renown, and and all-around good guy. He will bring his charming and delightful wit to both panels and Lobbycon throughout the weekend.
We’re excited to welcome Big Finish back to CT. With their 50th anniversary audio drama releasing the month of the convention– and the exciting just-announced Philip Hichcliffe Presents line of Fourth Doctor/Leela stories and the just-announced audio recreation of first series The Avengers episodes (Steed and Keel, not those superheroes)– plus all their other Doctor Who and other media-related lines– they’re going to have a lot to share with us! Joining Executive Producers Jason Haigh-Ellery and Nicholas “Dalek voiceman” Briggs will be Tracey Childs, who plays companion Elizabeth Klein alongside the Seventh Doctor. You will also recognize her as Metella from “The Fires of Pompeii,” as well as CS Elaine Jenkinson on Broadchurch. Ken Bentley, prolific audio (and theatre) director, will also be in the house Thanksgiving weekend.
Our old system didn’t want to go, so it took about 6 weeks for it to fully regenerate into a new, better-looking, and more efficient system. It’s gone live as of this afternoon. You might want to go check it out– especially if you haven’t bought your membership yet! Either follow the link on the Registration page, or go directly to the shopping cart front page.
We send out a hearty “thank you!” to all of you who have bought Reserved Memberships. We are officially sold out– the earliest we have ever sold out of this category. You can get yourself on the waiting list, though, by using the contact form on this website and selecting “waiting lists” from the drop-down menu.
Don’t worry– plenty of three-day and one-day general admission tix available!
After years of publishing our convention rules and policies in our programme book, we thought it high time we migrate them over to our website. You can now read them in advance of the convention! Find them on our policies page.
What would a 50th Anniversary Doctor Who party be without the Doctor in attendance? Well, we’ll never know, because Colin Baker will be joining us Thanksgiving weekend for his first visit in 5 years. We’re extra excited, because we haven’t had Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant together before! (Can you say “Sixie and Peri Panel”? Knew you could!)
