Chicago TARDIS welcomes back three old friends to this year’s event. Graeme Burk (co-author of Who Is the Doctor? and Who’s 50), Robert Smith? (co-author of Who Is the Doctor? and Who’s 50, editor of Outside In), and Michael Damian Thomas (co-editor of the Hugo-nominated Queers Dig Time Lords) will all be in the house, taking over panels, guiding discussions, and generally making the convention a better place. We look forward to their return!

Also on the hotel page you will find a handy link that will take you right into the Westin reservation system for rooms convention weekend. Last year, the host hotel sold out, so make sure you make your reservation sooner than later!

Our New Membership Category: Priority

Those of you who attended last year’s Chicago TARDIS may have noted the huge gap in seating we had in Main Programming. The first row was generally filled with our All-Access Members… and rows past 7 were jammed packed with our general admission members. In between? The gap that was Reserved seating. Realizing that most people bought Reserved to get priority in our autograph and photograph lines, we decided to create a new category of membership.

Our Priority Membership is a weekend membership with 3rd highest priority in lines, early access to online autograph/photograph session sales, and early access to the dealers room on Friday morning. Seating in Main Programming for this membership will be with the general admission memberships (i.e. row 6 and higher, not reserved).

We have reduced the number of Reserved memberships– siphoning them off to Priority– in the hopes of creating less of a gap between the stage and the audience. Those members who like the perk of having a seat reserved in their name will still be able to have the seat saved for them… and those members who don’t care where they sit as long as they can get priority in lines can now be better accommodated.

2013 Photo Session Galleries Now Available

We appreciate your patience in waiting for your jpgs. We do everything in-house here at Chicago TARDIS– from taking the photos to printing them and, now, uploading them for your use. The holidays, along with adapting new plug-ins etc., delayed delivery. (Now that we have the system in place, we won’t have this problem again!)

Those of you who bought tickets in advance though our online system will be receiving an email sometime this week with the password. (We can’t be more specific, because a) we have to send the emails manually and b) we don’t know yet how many we can send in a given time period before our ISP gets annoyed with us “spamming” people.) If you don’t get an email by Friday, January 10th, or if you registered via paper/phone/at the door, use the form below to request the password.

You can access the photo galleries via this link, or through the main menu under Autographs/Photographs.

Why are we doing the password thing? And why are we making you jump through a hoop to get it, if you didn’t register online? Not everyone is comfortable with having their photo online for the entire Internet to see. Plus, a number of photos have children in them, and we want to make sure to keep children’s photos as secure as possible.
